My S.O.C. Diary

My Stream of Consciousness Diary

Not quite a blog, a bit of a blurb, with some snippets and discordant ramblings!

So, as gas prices go up, Bush's approval ratings gown down? Doesn't anybody know anything about economics anymore? Let's say hat Bush capped prices a $2 a gallon. Good, right. Of course, price caps lead to shortages. What would you rather have, $3 a gallon gas, or no gas at all? Supply and demand. Read something, for Christ's sake.

What's all this crap about going to war with Iran? In case you dumbasses didn't notice, we are already at war with Iran. They supply the IED's to the terroists in Iraq that are used to kill our troops. Iran already started a war with us, now it is time for us to finish it.

Today I got an envelope in the mail from Poetry.com, informing me of my selection as an Editor's Choice. I pretty happy about that. Sometimes it seems I'm only writing for myself, and no one else cares.

I had a conversation yesterday with one of those "Bush went to war for oil" people. Despite the fact that we have yet to get one drop from Iraq, and oil is up to $69 a barrel, and gas is almost $3 a gallon, we went to war for oil. Granted, she's 17, and has a lot to learn about life, but basic supply and demand would tell you that oil supply is not keeping up with demand. Iraq has arguably the largest oil reserves in the world. We should take their oil, but we won't, despite what the Bush-haters want us to believe.

Have you seen the story about Pres. Bush planning to hit Iran with nukes to stop their nukes? If this is true, why in the hell is it public knowledge? Anybody heard of TOP SECRET? Our enemies have enough advantage over us when we live with so many whiners and nay-sayers. Makes you wonder what side they are really on.

4-07-06

The whiners just won't stop. Sure, the economy is booming, and Bush is the only President yet to bother himself with killing terroists. If it's true that he authorized the leak of a CIA Officer's name, I'll have a big problem with that, but still, we know Iraq had WMD's, it's just a matter of finding where they went.

It's been a while since my last entry, and things couldn't be going better. Today is my mom's b-day. My girl is the best, and I love her very much.

2-23-06

No matter how many times it happens, I'm always amazed at how fast things can change. It's hard to get a read on someone you've only known a few weeks, but when a lot of things change in such a short space of time, it's disturbing. They have problems they don't tell you about, then spring them on you all at once. Their tone is different, and they hold back things they used to say all the time. They don't seem to think you'll be worried about them, and don't call you to say they are alright. I hate to say it, be all those things can't be good.

2-17-06

Have you heard about the audio tapes of Saddam Hussein, talking about reconstituting the Iraqi biological, chemical, and nuclear programs after the U.N. and U.S. backed off? He also predicted the U.S. would lose the war because we would lose heart and leave. I guess he had the democrats pegged.

A word on gay marriage. If you are for it, let me ask you something: If two men and two women can get married, what would stop me from marrying my sister? Don't we have rights, too? Think about that for a while.

2-14-06

Things are going well for my girlfriend and I. We are in the early stages, where everything is new and wonderful. We get along great, and I believe we have a good shot at something special. No one can predict the future, but you need a great start, and we have that.

2-08-06

Did you see the rioters in the Middle East, "protesting" those cartoons from Denmark? How sensitive can you be about your religion? These are the people we are trying to "persuade" to see things our way. Is that going to be possible without killing many more of them?

There are some cool new rock bands you might want to check out: H.I.M., Nonpoint, Flyleaf, Evan's Blue, and Dark New Day.

2-05-06

Creative people are invariably "screwed up" in some way. Our pain, latent or brimming at the surface, feeds our need to vent at the world. We write and create things about our lives, and to be good, it has to be interesting. "Normal" people lead boring lives. No one immortalizes them in art, and they usually can't do the job themselves.

2-04-06

Being alone is almost like being empty. And then you meet someone, and many things go through your head: How much will she like me?, and, What will happen tomorrow? There is always the possibility of overthinking it, and not letting your emotions flow.

Dating in general is a subject that has been mined for writing material for centuries. The mores and speech are different and evolving, and every person is a new experience. Connecting with someone is a rush; a rush I've known few times in my life.

If you are thinking of getting a Sirius Satellite Radio, beware. It is a great service, and I love Howard Stern, but they are really jerking my chain. Today they shut me off, after 4 converations, when they told me everything was fine. I've had the radio for 2 months and they've gotten over $100 for service, and yet they shut me off.

1-26-06

I met a girl off the net recently. I think we hit it off pretty good. It's not easy meeting people off the net; there are a lot of weirdos, which I'm sure most of you know.

I see that the Palestinians elected a terroist group to head up their parliment. I hope Pres. Bush drops this crap about them becoming a full-fledged state. Israel needs to wipe out the terroists, instead of this road-map-peace crap. Peace only comes when the last of your enemies are destoyed.

1-23-06

I love Kentucky college basketball. This year has been rougher than most, but Tubby Smith is a hell of a coach. We'll go far in March; we usually do.

In some emails I get, people wonder about my personal life. The fact is, I'm shy, and more at ease talking to women on the internet. But, as with eveything else, it's not easy. Maybe I seem a little rough around the edges on the net, just as much as I'm reserved in person. Anyway, it gives me something to think about.

When you write something like this, you wonder how much of yourself to reveal. Am I an interesting person? I think regular people can be interesting, if they have a little creativity. Hopefully, I do.

I've decided to start a Yahoo group for struggling writers. I feel alone. I'm sure there are groups like that already, but I'm a follower, not a leader.

The Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl. Congrats to Northern KY product (Boone County High School), Shaun Alexander. I'm rooting for you against the Carson-Palmer-leg-breaking Stleelers.

I saw today that Time Mag. says at least 5 pictures have surfaced of Pres. Bush with Jack Abramoff. Pictures? Are you fucking kidding me? This Jack dude gave hundreds of thousands of $ to democrats, and Buch took some pictures with him. Is this all they have?

1-21-06

After 9-11, my b-day, by the way, didn't Pres. Bush vow to treat terroists and terror-supporting states the same? Iraq paid bombers' families in Palestine to kill Jews, and supported Zarqawi before there was an Iraq war. Terroists. Do they need WMD's to be dangerous? And do we know they don't have them? Got them from Saddam, maybe?

I'm boycotting Cincinnati's Channel 5 news. They still haven't played my mom's story. I'm going to try and find their ratings, and see if my boycott brings them down.

Writing is my release. Whether someone gets something out of it, is cool in its own way, but I need to write.

We bitch and moan about Bush not doing enough to fight terroists, then we hear he is, i.e., domestic spying, and we throw a fit. If you don't like Bush, run for Pres., big boy, do it your way, and take the heat. God forbid, we catch some terroists in the U.S., like Padilla, or the Brooklyn Bridge guy, or the Buffalo 6, etc.

Osama put out a new tape. Who cares? Did huge videotapes fly into the Twin Towers? Did a microphone land on the Pentagon? He lives in a fucking cave; give me a break.

Did you know that after Great Britian banned guns in 1997, their gun-crime rate doubled?

1-20-06

I had an idea. When terroists take people hostage in Iraq, and demand that prisoners be released, let's take those prisoners and execute them. Wouldn't that deter hostage taking? That may seem harsh, but why do we tie our own hands. Terroists have no rules, why should we. Torture, hell, kill 'em.

My cousin recently became pregnant. She's 18, lives in a trailer, didn't finish High School, and her boyfriend didn't offer to marry her. Her solution. Get on welfare.

My mom was supposed to be on Cincinnati's Channel 5 news yesterday, the "Taking Action" portion. Instead of putting on her story about run down housing in Independence, KY, they ran a story about supermarkets, and the long words on food packages.
